KNOWING WHO WE ARE

“WHAT? KNOW YE NOT THAT YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY GHOST WHICH IS IN YOU, WHICH YE HAVE OF GOD, AND YE ARE NOT YOUR OWN? FOR YE ARE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE: THEREFORE GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY, AND IN YOUR SPIRIT, WHICH ARE GOD’S.”  I Corinthians6:19-20

            When I went into my email inbox, I noticed the subject line on two of them that contrasted drastically.  One said, “Thank you for being loyal” and the other said, “how rude”.  What conflicting opinions!  The ‘loyal’ message was from an office supply store that I frequent.  The “how rude” message was from my sister who was pretending to be indignant at me for not emailing her for 2 days.

            Jesus always seemed to have drastically conflicting opinions about Who He was, what He did and His message.  And, unlike my sister’s joking, His critics were very serious.  But He never let that change Him, His actions, or His message.  He knew Who He was, that His works were of God and His message was true.  He still is, they still are, and it still is!  We can stand firm, too, regardless of the opinions of the world.  Jesus Christ never changes!

CHALLENGE TO CHANGE:  “Do I know who I really am in Christ Jesus?”
Read the scriptures and find out who you are when you are in Jesus and He is in you.  Don’t settle for less, and don’t compromise your position.  You can start with II Corinthians 5:17.  You are a new creature in Christ.
