UNSPOKEN REQUESTS
“ONE THING HAVE I
DESIRED OF THE LORD, THAT WILL I SEEK AFTER; THAT I MAY DWELL IN THE HOUSE
OF THE LORD ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE, TO BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD, AND
TO INQUIRE IN HIS TEMPLE.”
Psalm 27:4
Our church, like many others, sometimes asks for prayer requests.
Some are spoken out loud so the whole congregation can hear and know
how to pray specifically for a situation.
Then they ask for those who have unspoken requests to lift their
hands. Maybe they are not spoken
because of time restraints, the asker is shy or reserved, or they are of a
personal nature. But God knows
all about it. He hears the very
cry of our hearts.
You may be all alone
with God and ask Him for many things, thank Him for His blessings and share
your desires and dreams. But
sometimes, our heart speaks things that cannot be put into words.
It speaks of our joy, our hurt, our disappointments, our hopes.
And God hears every cry of our hearts---those deep, personal whispers
from within. He hears, He cares,
He answers.
CHALLENGE TO CHANGE:
“Do I take the time to hear the heart of God and to allow my heart to
communicate with Him? Do I
believe He hears, He cares and He answers?”
In the presence of God, everything seems clear and in order.
Our thoughts can pull away from the busyness of life and we can see
and understand with our heart instead of our head.
Time with Him in stillness and quietness is time well spent.
