REWARDS
“AND, BEHOLD, I COME
QUICKLY; AND MY REWARD IS WITH ME, TO GIVE EVERY MAN ACCORDING AS HIS WORK
SHALL BE.” Revelation 22:12
My mother showed me a picture in our local paper that made me very
proud of a girl in our church.
There she stood with the governor of our state, and the caption explained
she had received the Governor’s Award for her character and leadership
qualities. What an honor!
At her young age she has enough self discipline to shape who she is
in the best way. And she was
recognized for it.
If we want to receive rewards in Heaven, we must learn to yield
ourselves to the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
We must discipline ourselves daily to follow Jesus’ teachings,
cultivate His compassion, and do His works.
When we do, we will hear the Father say, “Well done, thou good and
faithful servant”; and we will be in His presence forevermore.
CHALLENGE TO CHANGE: “Is
my conduct becoming for one who names the name of Christ, or do I need to
make some adjustments?”
Before we can hear the Father say “well done”, we must do well!
It takes perseverance and self discipline, but the reward is much
greater than the sacrifice.
