Years have come and years have gone; their memories linger still.
But many years lie yet ahead to follow in God’s will.

 Think of all the days behind, how faithful God has been.
Has He forgotten where you live?  No!  And He’ll bless again.

 There has never been a time when God forgot His own;
Just as there’s not been a time that He has left His throne.

 All the joy that was before, the peace within your heart,
The miracles that fell in line, the works you helped to start;

 Those were days of joy and peace; excitement thrilled your soul.
You did such things, you wonder now, how could you be so bold.

 God rewards us for our deeds, and you have much to reap.
You have walked through happy times as well as waters deep.

 They’re all a part of one great life, but there are days ahead.
We must set the captives free and speak and raise the dead.

 All around us lies a world that’s dead inside their soul.
God has given us the task to loose the tempter’s hold.

 So, watch for God to open doors and send you forth again.
For He is coming very soon to judge the world of sin.

 And that is why He sends us forth – the hour is drawing near.
It’s urgent that we take His light and leave behind all fear.

 Don’t look behind at what has been with hopelessness inside.
Today God’s arm will bear you up – on eagles’ wings you’ll glide.

 See the past as wondrous times when you proved God’s great care.
See today as urgent times when God’s voice you must hear.

 Finished?  No, you’ve just begun.  A new day’s coming on.
For God sends forth in power – the power of His Son.

 He needs you in these troubled times; you’re seasoned in His Word.
And He needs those who persevere, who act on what they’ve heard.

 A pillar in the house of God is made o’er many years.
And God has surely seen your heart – your joys, your hopes, your tears.

 Challenges lie up ahead, so lay hold of your faith.
You can meet each challenge now because you’ve learned to wait.
