The pink and the blue of the sky
in the morning,
The rush of the waves on the shore,
Shadows that dance with the wind in the twilight,
Bring peace to my would once more.
Solitude comes if
alone or with others,
When I turn my thoughts deep inside.
Open I stand to the eyes of my spirit –
Searching out thing that can’t hide.
There I see things
that I long to be broken,
Things that I wish weren’t inside.
So there I stand face to face with my failures,
Evident and I can’t lie.
Restless the waves in
the depths of my spirit,
Troubled the sea of my soul.
Faraway lands house the peace I am needing;
And in between, billows still roll.
